Participants will learn:the state of breast cancer in San Diego for Black women; general information in breast cancer stats; challenges facing Black women in breast cancer health; empowerment and taking ownership of our own breast health; holding our health providers accountable; action steps we can all take.

Dhalia Balmir

Dhalia brings forth experience in establishing strategic direction, diversity, equity and inclusion techniques, while influencing initiatives on representation, and development for women of color. Today, Dhalia works for Susan G. Komen as a Health Equity Coordinator, owns her own consulting business and is a trainer for National Conflict Resolution Center.  At Komen, she provides strategic direction and advocacy on health inequities impacting Black women in San Diego. As a champion of change, she’s inspired to create data driven strategies for addressing inequities and believes that “taking the time to genuinely listen, helps me bring true value in driving change”.
