NCAAWA 2012 Scholarship Application Information

The North County African-American Women’s Association (NCAAWA) is a non-profit, 501 © (3), volunteer organization located in North San Diego County. The organization was formed to celebrate ethnic and racial pride and to explore the beauty and strength of our culture. The Association grew out of a need to provide mentors for women who are participants in the SOLO Project, part of the Carl Perkins 1990 Vocational Education Act. Our organization has grown in its vision by holding Women’s Conferences for teens and adults, community activities and by offering achievement awards to students wishing to further their education at a four-year college, community college, trade or technical school.

Each year NCAAWA awards educational scholarships to deserving teens and women of all ages.

NCAAWA’s scholarship committee enjoys awarding funds because we consider students no matter where they may find them in their educational search.

We welcome high school graduates who are going directly to college and vocational schools, as well as students who are qualified to attend but have delayed their college pursuits for a variety of personal reasons.

Students are encouraged to apply throughout their college years to help with ongoing expenses.
